Itinerary

Your tour begins with pickup at your Lisbon hotel. Climb into a private, air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy panoramic views as you cross the Tagus River over the famous 25th of April Bridge. The first destination is Cristo Rei, a magnificent statue based on Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. Capture photographs beneath the outstretched arms of Christ before continuing to Cape Espichel.

Cristo Rei hill offers a fantastic view of Lisbon, the Tagus River, and the 25 de Abril Bridge.  The climb to the monument is optional and not included. The National Shrine of Christ the King is located 133 meters above the Tagus level. It consists of a porch designed by the 75-meter-high architect Antonio Lino, topped by the 28-meter-high statue of the Holy Redeemer with open arms facing the city of Lisbon by Portuguese sculptor Francisco Franco de Sousa.

Because of its position and extraordinary natural architectural complex, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Cape Espichel, also known as Nossa Senhora da Pedra Mua, is one of the most spectacular sights in this area.  Its veneration goes back to 1410 when two elderly men from Caparica and Alcabideche were given signals from Heaven in congruent dreams and uncovered the adored picture of Our Lady of the Cape at the point of Cape Espichel.

Moinho de Baixo Beach was one of the first to construct a fully marked and approved area for naturism across an area that encompasses Tramagueira Beach through to the Rio da Prata Beach, the last of the several beaches on the sands that begin at Costa de Caparica.
